Terms of use
Draft — awaiting review by a Jordanian lawyer before launch
Version 0.1 (draft) · Issued: . The Arabic text is authoritative; this English text is a translation of it.
1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of the Marakez (مراكز) app, its admin panel and this website, which are run by the non-profit entity (entity name — set by the owner before launch) (“we”).
You accept these terms the first time you sign in to your account, before you publish any content. If you are under 18, your guardian agreed to the creation of your account through your centre; please read these terms together. The privacy policy completes them.
2. A free waqf service
Marakez is completely free: no ads, no purchases or subscriptions, no requests for donations inside the app, and no selling of data.
3. Your account
- Your Quran memorization centre creates your account; there is no self sign-up.
- You sign in with your login number and a password you choose yourself when you activate the account. The login number is not a secret, but the password is: do not share it with anyone, not even your centre's staff. Nobody from the centre or the platform team will ever ask you for it.
- If you forget your password, ask your centre's administration for a recovery code.
- You are responsible for what happens in your account. If you suspect someone else has used it, change your password, use “Sign out of all devices” and tell your centre.
- One account per person, and you may not pretend to be someone else.
4. Acceptable use
Use Marakez for what it is made for: memorizing and reviewing the Holy Quran, memorizing hadith, and the activities of Quran memorization centres. You may not:
- Try to reach other people's data or accounts you do not own, or get around permissions or protections.
- Manipulate points, ranks or sabr results, or record a recitation that did not happen.
- Use the service with automated tools, collect data automatically, or send requests that overload the service.
- Use the platform for commercial or promotional purposes or to raise money.
- Break the laws in force in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
5. Unacceptable content
Users can publish content inside the app: announcements, activities and events, centre pages, achievements, profiles, question banks, teacher notes on the mushaf, and appeals. None of it may contain:
- Any alteration or mockery of the text of the Holy Quran, or words falsely attributed to the Prophet ﷺ.
- Insults to religions or rites, or mockery of them.
- Bullying, harassment, threats, humiliation, and hate speech or discrimination based on origin, gender, religion, disability or anything else.
- Any sexual, suggestive or nude content, and any content that exploits or endangers children; we remove it at once and report it to the competent authorities.
- Violence or gore, or incitement to violence or self-harm.
- Other people's personal data (such as phone numbers, addresses or warnings), photos showing other children's faces, or any photo of a female student.
- Impersonation of a person, a centre or an official body.
- Commercial advertising, requests for money or donations, and payment links.
- Spam, harmful or misleading links, and malware.
- False or misleading information, and any content that breaks the law or infringes other people's rights, including intellectual property rights.
6. Reporting, blocking and moderation
- Reporting: every piece of user content has a “Report” button in the app (up to 20 reports a day). People without an account can report through the support page.
- Blocking: “Block this user” hides their content from you; you can unblock them at any time.
- Moderation: the platform team reviews reports, and we aim to act on every report within 24 hours. Student and centre achievements are reviewed before they are published.
- Actions: we may remove content that breaks these rules, suspend an account, or close it for serious or repeated violations. Every action is recorded in the audit log.
7. Discipline at centres
- Centres issue warnings according to their rules. A warning is active for 30 days, and no other student can see it.
- A third active warning means expulsion from the centre, which requires the signature of a second person responsible at the centre within 72 hours; otherwise the decision goes to the platform team.
- Every warning or expulsion can be appealed from inside the app, and an expelled student can ask for the expulsion record to be removed.
- The managers of another centre you apply to can see your expulsion record within one year of the expulsion, as explained in the privacy policy.
8. The mushaf and hadith
- We show the text of the Holy Quran exactly as it is in its licensed sources, with no alteration, and check that it matches automatically. If you notice any difference from the printed mushaf, tell us straight away through the support page.
- No hadith is published until a qualified sheikh has reviewed and approved it, and its grading is always shown.
- The mushaf, its fonts and its data are licensed to us for use inside the app; you may not copy or redistribute them outside it. Details are on the credits page.
9. Your content
- What you write stays yours. You allow us to store it and show it inside the platform to the people entitled to see it, only as far as running the service requires.
- You are responsible for being allowed to publish your content.
10. Suspension and termination
- Your account may be suspended or closed if you break these terms, at your guardian's request if you are a minor, or on a legal request. This is recorded, and you can object through the support page.
- You can delete your account whenever you want, in the app or on the Delete account page.
11. Limits of liability
- We offer Marakez as a free waqf service and do our best to keep it accurate, available and safe, but we cannot guarantee it will be free of faults or interruptions.
- Each centre's staff take their educational and disciplinary decisions under the platform's rules, and the right to appeal remains available.
- Nothing in these terms limits rights that the law does not allow to be limited.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
13. Changes to these terms
We announce any important change inside the app before it takes effect, with a version number and date. If a change is material, we ask you to accept the terms again.
14. Contact
For everyday account matters, start with your centre's administration. To reach the platform team: (set by the owner). Details are on the support page.
